Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) was signed by the Queen onto the statute book in November 2000, establishing a general right of access to all types of 'recorded' information held by public authorities. This right has been fully implemented by the Government Procurement Service since January 2005.

For further information please visit the Information Commissioner's* web site.

Under the FOIA every public authority is required to adopt and maintain a Publication Scheme setting out the classes of information it holds, the manner in which it intends to publish that information, and whether a charge will be made for the information.

Government Procurement Service's Publication Scheme describes what information we intend to publish from our internal documents and materials.

Please note that the information below does not represent all the information Government Procurement Service has disclosed under the Freedom of Information Act.  If you require details of an FOI request that is not listed please contact foi@gps.gsi.gov.uk
